Jasmine Village itself is like an extended family (return guests are often greeted by their first names!) and within the grounds of Jasmine Village you will find that European social standards are very much in evidence.
However Jasmine Village is also within a foreign country and when venturing outside of it's grounds you should be aware that different attitudes exist.
You will of course be made to feel extremely welcome in Egypt but as when visiting any new culture it is important we respect and are prepared before traveling.
As Egypt is predominately a Muslim country you will find that social mores are different to those that you are used to at home so here are a few suggestions as to how to dress and behave when outside of Jasmine Village in the local town or visiting ancient monuments, Mosques or Churches.
You will feel more comfortable if you do not expose your shoulders (no vest tops but a simple t-shirt is fine). Long trousers or calf length skirts are best.
Please also bear in mind that close physical contact between the sexes can be frowned upon. As a tourist people will make exceptions for you but it is best to limit yourselves to holding hands only.
Egypt is a very safe country and you will see many uniformed security and police officers who are there to help you but please do remember to let Jasmine Village security know you are leaving the hotel and remember to keep your passport or ID with you.
Oh, and, don't forget to bring them back some chocolate when you've been shopping in town !!!
